I have also tried to do this. I didn't understand how to pipe the email.
So I set up a pop, went into the manage the department and added my pop settings for my support@domain.org
However, when a user or me as an admin replies it doesn't get into the helpdesk panel.
So i'm wondering if anyone could guide me how, and this would probably be wise for the threadstarter as well
Thanks
David
@dordar: Nice to read that I'm not alone with this problem. ;-)
It seems so that the typed in pop3 login data won't be used for picking up the emails! Or did I missunderstood the function in the department settings?

hi people,
im in same situation too. As far i understand the TD WIKI, C-panel has a function that allows mailing assigning a programm (pipe). I think this is a very exotic function. I ask my provider if they hear something like this, but they dont. My ISP is using PLESK.
I was trying POP3 as well but no sucess. Of course couse there is no "pipe" function. So pop3 interactivity with TD would be an nice future for next TD versions.
DJ, i apprechiate to make tests for some betas if avalable ;-)
Hi uscher! This seems to be a problem/feature with higher priority ;-)
So we'll wait on DJs reply.
I would also like to be a TD-Betatester!

Look this topic, there I have written the reason.
There are no some files in the distribution kit
I've set up several things, but it still doesn't work. I've enabled POP3-Checking and typed in the email login data for my email account, where the emails should be picked up. Which settings have to be set in then department etc. so that it does work?

I think I've figured out your problem. I've answered this to another user in another post...
You have to setup a cron job to run the script pop3.php at timed intervals that you specify.
I have mine setup like this:
/usr/local/bin/php -f /home/YOURACCOUNT/public_html/ADDonDOMAIN/trellis/sources/pop3.php
Where yours might look like this if you have your own server:
/usr/local/bin/php -f /home/public_html/trellis/sources/pop3.php
I have Cron Job setup to run every 12 minutes.
You may also have to enable Piping inside Trellis. I had to do that to get it working. When I disable it in Trellis it doesn't work.
Hope that gets you started.

Hey shadowmaxss,
I've done all that for the past 4 days....first with osticket and now with Trellis.... I tried all you can think of and more... I wonder why this is something that they don't fully address since everyone seems to have a problem with it and only a few seem to actually get it working.
Well, I am just leting it out...I cant even ask anything because I seem to have tried it all...
Cheers.
